Why I don't subscribe to your blog

Hey bloggers, I just wanted to share some of the thoughts, on why I skip subscribing to some blogs and reasons behind it. I have very specific approach to blogging, I see it as a way of genuinely communicating with other people and way to network with other people, creating connection and learning from them. Here is the list of reasons on why I don't subscribe to blogs:

  • You aren't replying to your comments - people invested time in leaving their mark and reaching over to you, if you don't reach them back, I sense it's kinda selfish
  • Your blog design is overcrowded - personally I am huge fan of minimalism and if you overcrowded your blog with banners, widgets and all that stuff, it repels me to a level where I can't see enough of the value to push you through to my Instapaper
  • Your blog design looks to cheap - it might not be overcrowded, but it has one color background that repels me - same as previous just opposite
  • Your blog didn't remind me of subscription options available out there
  • You don't have "a Face behind your blog", if I can't see clear picture of you, I will be more hesitant to subscribe, I want to connect to real people, not brands
  • Your comments require Captcha - this is huge turn of for me, if I can't seamlessly leave my mark on your work, without wasting time, than I will skip reading it altogether
  • You post too much - anyone who has more than 15 articles per week is overcrowding my RSS feed - this was the reason why I ditched Lifehacker for example
What are your reasons for unsubscribing blogs? Or not even trying to subscribe?

Who are you listening to?

This post is inspired by the voices I heard today... Cleaning up my reader mess and read a lot of posts... What's going on, on the web? Seems like only people who are trying to earn money are talking about passions and what not. And execptionaly people in sales telling other people not to try to sell trough social media. I can sense the thick cloud of fog around many of those social media consultants, who will justify the lack of results that they deliver explaining how it's bad for your PR not to sell...

When on the web, turn your reasoning and critical thinking on. Who are you listening to? Are they talking juju or they are talking money? Try to sense the energy behind words and pictures. When you break it down that way, you will have a sense with who are you talking to.

Yes, just try to focus, and skip all those emotional traps that they are trying to enforce upon us for our money.

Let's take a look at my projects

For past couple of days I am consolidating my projects into streams and organizing them. Most of these projects are blogs of sorts, but I want to review them. Currently I am activly involved in 5 different projects:

  • Increasing Workplace productivity - I am investing most of my energy and passion into this project, it helps me fuse all other work, because it's all about productivity
  • Brilliant Mind project - this is collaborated project with my coworkers, where we are trying to make websites that are content distributors and are doing that over Twitter, monetizing on affiliate and Adsense.
  • Disclosed company project - This project consumes a lot of my creative energy, because I am actively looking for solutions to project problems, unfortunately I am not disclosed to talk about it
  • Mrsavljenje - this is weight loss website, which functions really well. I hired a journalist to write articles for this blog and I am distributing it to our great fanbase on Facebook and increasing followers on Twitter. We are locating people who are interesting in weight loss and delivering proper information to them.
  • Racunari - I got hired to lead this project and it has really good start. The very name is native Serbian word for computer, so it's highly customized for all IT words. I established great Wordpress design along with social media integration.
It's kinda hard to track all these different projects, but when you look at it, most of these projects have common tasks, who if carefully organized can still be achieved with a breeze, without wasting too much time. Mind mapping is essential tool that helped me with this issue, as I wrote in a popular article that I recently wrote here. I must confirm that usage of mind mapping is genuinely increasing my productivity and creativity.

I am satisfayed and diversification of my projects and their development. They are adding up value daily and accumulating part of the web which I am editing. Internet is awesome, simply put.

What's going on in Bojan labs...

Hi peeps, haven't wrote here for a while, but there are good reasons for it. Since new year I am quite happy with my productivity levels and I am achieving a lot day by day. Development of my book is ongoing and you can read fragments of it on my producivity blog. I am reading a lot of blogs and reaching out to a lot of new people and this amuses me but also allows me to network.

Facebook is my biggest source of traffic, followed up by Twitter. I am trying to figure out weather to focus my efforts into one basket or keep them spread? I always had good results with Facebook, maybe I should stick with it? Not really sure...

New stuff that I am trying out are related to standing table. It's in the early stage of development a habit of standing up, while working, but it seems really interesting. I have to brag that I got into a habit of writing and it does wonders for me. After a lot of contemplating I am thinking about starting to write for content sharing sites like Info Barell and Ezine Articles. Still not sure which "content farm" to visit and be regular guest at.

My marketing efforts from Warrior forum aren't brining in the traffic juice, so kinda makes it uninteresting location to market my website to. Or I simply need to generate more "karma" and get new there. I like the way they made signitures related to your WSO (warrior special offer). You invest 40 $ for a forum ad, and than everyone starts to post like crazy so their signitures shows up as much as possible in all possible forum threads. Long live sales, but that bog seems like it's overcrowded with crocodiles...

Beside a lot of work, I regularly find time to work out and go out at weekends. Hanging out with my regular friends and enjoying myself as much as I can. Just wanted to keep you updated on what's going on, I will make sure my gets more interesting for my readers in the future.

All blogging and no play, makes content boring. :)

Facebook got hit by virus, AGAIN!?

I am not sure weather you noticed or not, but there is new circle of viral virus flowing around the Facebook web. This is another fail that got Facebook on the list of unreliable companies. I already have a problem with them for their non open policy, but this disregard of users is the last drop in already filled glass.

I am not buying that, I am not buying that Facebook is that much powerful and yet again they can have flaws like these. Viruses slipping on their own platform, sorry but I don't feel protected as a user, when Mark Zuckerberg himself gets hacked. It's your problem deal with it, but your brand is not something that I will flock to and love. There is no kind of movie that will bring me back to you. I will use it as long as it's necessary, but you won't have my thrust, nor will you have my thrust in order for me to use you as my preferred email provider.

Sorry Facebook, the cup you broke, even after fixing isn't the real deal anymore...

Writers blockade... And negative reviews on Youtube, you gotta love it

For last couple of days I couldn't force myself to write, it was darn too complicated. Now that I have keyboard in my hands and determination I got myself back to it. There are stuff going on in my private life, that I am happy about and are related to certain someone... Anyway I don't know weather you're blogging yourself (my dear reader) or you're just browsing around, but there has to be something between you and blank piece of screen, that certain emotion that is going to drive you all the way to the end of an article. You just want to feel the creative force behind your words, thingling emotions that they might provoke while your reader is consuming your words.

Blogging is the corner stone of online publishing and everyone's got a chance to give it a shot, will you attract readership or not, it's up to netizens to decide. Your freedom of speech is limitless, but your reach is limited with how many people get back to your blog. Beside blogging I want to get my word out on other media channels, such as Youtube and Audioboo.fm. So I just uploaded a couple of videos and I get some weird comments from people, yep, people from my own country. They didn't even have the courtesy to leave an English comment, since entire channel is on English.

I guess it's called jealousy, because there is someone out there, who's outperforming them. When you start getting negative comments that means you are on the right track, especially when I face comments from people that are trying to pull you donw, since they can't do shit with themselves. It's way easier for them to leave a bad remark, than produce something of their own, everyone's affraid of critics, but figure out this. THEY ARE ALL LOSERS WHO GOT NOTHING BETTER TO DO, THAN PUT SHIT ON OTHERS PEOPLE WORK! When you face this truth, you will head in the right direction. Your word is getting out there... What particularly got me fond over this negative comment is that I didn't invest my time into finding people who might like it, I was just checking out how I look on cam, and weather it's appropriate for speaking. So here's the video that launched this article:

I would like your comment, don't be afraid to leave a bad one if you didn't like it :) But I will repeat myself, weather you're writing, making videos or podcasting, do it with passion. Passion will help you push trough negative remarks and belief that what you're doing is right will allow you to push trough any pain that envious people that want to put you back into the chains and norms that society imposes on us. Be affraid of these kind of people in real life, they might be masked as your friends and people that "care about you", but don't forget their envy and shine trough with your confidence! Belive that life that you imagine is something achievable, your mind is designed so it will find the way to please your wishes.

It doesn't necessarily have to be painful, because if you love what you do, you are enjoying your process on the way to your highs that you imagined! Your mind is powerful!

My morning routine

First of all, Happy Serbian new year to all my friends and family here, hope all of you had awesome night and great time. So after a good nightout of drinking cocktails I woke up groggy and pushed trough it and did my morning routine. I am being persistent at my habit building, so there is no excuse, if you decide something, you gotta do it. The moment I warmed up, I started to love mornings to death. Rush of blood started to wake up every single neuron trough my body, giving a new meaning to waking up. During my workout I am listening to podcasts, and I tend to listen to different people every day. This is exploding my creativity, because each day I am waking up with fresh ideas. When I finish with working out I proceed to making my protein or Herbalife shake and drink it with some fruits. Fresh fruits are awesome energy boost after your workout.

If you are into burning fat, first thing you do in the morning should be working out. Your liver is depleting your sugar levels while you sleep, so when you wake up, there are no Carbo-Hydrates to burn energy from, so your organism is going straight for your muscle tissue and fats. And fats are what we are targeting, but don't worry about muscle tissue if you are regaining it with your shake or healthy intake of proteins trough food. Personally I am to lazy to prepare food, that's something that I am leaving for February habit building. Here's the intro from one of my favorite movies "American psycho", this is how I want my mornings to look like more or less:

And it struck me today, that I was actually anxiously waiting to get other things done, so I can start writing. You have a blank piece of screen and you need to fulfill it with meaningful words that you are aiming to strike at peoples hearts, one way or another. Writing online is meaningful conversation between you and the rest of the web and possibly rest of the world. I know many blogs that were transcribed to books and resold afterwards. Blogging means a world to me and it allows virtually anyone to become a publisher in the matter of seconds.

How I became passionate about writing? I started keeping a journal at the age of 15. I still have it and read it occasionally. This journal held some of my most private thoughts, it's still precious book to me and I still tend to write in it. And at one point during my adolescence, privacy of my journal has been breached by my mother. It made me stop writing in it for quite a while, but I wanted to make sure that there aren't any eyeballs reading my thoughts that I didn't want to. So the paradox was that I "moved" my journal online and wrote it anonymously. It was on local blogging service, that featured new blogs and somehow I had some readers on it and I started reading a couple of people also. That blog was up and running for 4 whole straight years. It's still in function, but I tend not to publicly claim where it is, somehow it's still my "private" place although online. And I have hidden most of it's articles...

I was amazed that I had steady readership on it and I became reader of my readers also, leading me to making a couple of wonderful friendships in the process and a fling in foreign city. So after a years break, I got back to it, and this time I wanted to go public, with my name attached to it, straightforward and with me standing behind every word. So if you are reading this, and have a blog of your own, be sure to leave a comment so I drop by to see who you are. Don't be afraid, I won't bite you, at least not right away :)

It's one of those mornings... errm afternoons

I went to bed late last night and wasn't sleeping that well. Had this really weired dream, that woke me up too early, and my cat didn't allow me to proceed with my sleep. She usually sleeps with me, but she wants to play in the morning, had to close her in the bathroom, but than she started screaming to let her out, no better snooze alarm than that...

So now I am drinking my late morning coffee in 1:34 pm and contemplating on what to eat. I followed up my routine of working out in the morning perfectly, but couldn't sit myself to write some proper article, so I came here to let my thoughts loose and was reading some good articles on RSS feeds. As coffee is flowing trough my stomach and warming it nicely I am thinking of my daily obligations and for the time being there aren't any.

I've received an email today from someone who was reading my blog and that is one of the biggest rewards blogger can get, that way it seems like you are communicating with the world. You write it once, and there is potential it's going to be read thousands of times, connecting your thoughts and ideas with many other like minded individuals, or potentially unlike minded. Internet is magnificent glorious way of interacting with entire humankind. So I decided to share with you this beautiful day with all of you accidental wanderers. This picture is taken from my balcony and the river you see in the background is Danube.

After the coffee I grabbed a cake and decided to leave the house and enjoy the sun of this magnificent day. See you around...

Industry report: Future of TV and Ads a.k.a. how Google earns money while you take a shit

Google TV, Apple TV, Tablets, mobile stream... There is this vertical in market that unites all of your devices. So on your way home you are watching a video on your phone, when you reach it, you can just continue on the TV, but after that you might wanna go to the toilet, so you can go watch it on your tablet. Yea technology is allowing us to watch TV anywhere. I am surprised how much attention is still being given to the TV. Netflix reached 50 million subscribers and each one of them is paying 8$ a month, no wonder they got into S&P 500. For anyone that thinks of getting a new TV these days, I recommend you to wait up for a year. 3D technology is something that will become widespread pretty soon and

This is becoming a huge market and biggest fish in this sea at the moment in my opinion are: Google, Apple and Samsung. I believe that not many people realize how huge Samsung has become lately, with adequate support from Google software, and wide range of hardware support, we have a lot at our disposal. They make great phones, tablets, players in the Galaxy family. I am typing this article on Samsung led monitor, which I must say is quite awesome. Okay, let's not make this post an article for Samsung, but I can say that they grew a milestone, which not many have suspected.

So now let's compare one tiny Facebook with giants like Google and Apple and I am watching it only from the perspective of investor. 2 billion dollars a year, yea that's awesome, but how can we compare double digits revenue from giants? Let's not forget Microsoft. Seems like everyone fell for Facebook media hype and they can't be able to see that 2 billion this year is becoming a small number compared to Google ad's that are going to run on our TV's. It's absolutely the best time for IPO, because media fame is going down, and we need to talk about new topics like genuine ways to watch TV, while you take a long visit in the bathroom. And yea, you're right, Google will be servicing you the best possible ads for toilet paper, because they will know your Geo Location. No better time to give you a toilet paper commercial when you actually need one.

So now we can have a clear picture of how Google will know your watching habits and that data will be worth way more than anything else. Money is where eyeballs are and those eyeballs are still more into TV, whatever the new form of it may be...

Is your SEO consultant dream seller?

People in internet industries are numerous. Tonight I had an argument with two of my friends about SEO. Oh my how people are talking vague stuff and think they are high quality experts. I am not claiming that I am SEO expert, but I know quite a lot on the topic. One of most important bullets of the argument were about domain age and one of my friends was claiming how it won't affect SEO, which is complete rubbish and lack of general knowledge about Google and the way they threat their products. If SEO was so damn easy as they claim it to be, everyone would be making millions.

That guy claimed a local project and charged a fee for 700 euros. First of all what kind of things can these people guarantee? If you have no knowledge of SEO, maybe you should rethink when buying agencies/individuals services. If you take into consideration many factors that are ongoing, you will figure out that no one can guarantee you #1 spot on Google for any keywords, especially not for keywords that are highly competitive and full of domains who are old with adequate backlink structure.

A lot of people who think SEO is easy rely on black hat tools and link buying, which can bring more damage than harm. I am not claiming that black hat SEO doesn't work, but if done without adequate knowledge... Think twice before you venture deeper in the SEO sea. Do some research before giving out money to some agency, which offers you illusions of grandeur for pennies of the dollar. This can cost you way more than those bucks you've invested!
